Cape Fear National
Located in scenic Brunswick Forest, Cape Fear is one of Wilmington’s youngest golf destinations, and has been recognized by GolfWeek and Golf Magazine as one of the best new courses anywhere in the country. On a more local scale, though, the course is widely known for being among the most brilliantly picturesque courses around, featuring sweeping green hills, large patches of maple, oak, and magnolia trees, blooming wildflowers, and its three signature waterfalls. The course’s clubhouse doubles as a fully stocked pro-shop loaded with gear, and it boasts several indoor and outdoor dining areas, perfect for rehearsal dinners, anniversaries, or birthday parties. All of this, combined with its very close proximity to downtown Wilmington, makes it a can’t-miss course.

Cooper and his Uncle Cleary
Wilmington Municipal Golf Course
The Wilmington muni course is really nice and really inexpensive. The course was designed by Donald Ross in 1926 to provide the public with a quality, championship 18 hole golf course at affordable prices. The fees for city residents are $15.00 weekday and $18.00 weekend for 18 holes walking or $11.00 weekday and $12.00 weekend for 9 holes walking. Cart fees are $11 per round for residents under 65. If you’re planning to play a lot of golf and don’t want to break the bank, then this is the way to go.
