Ogden Park in Wilmington

When you first enter Ogden Park from Market Street, you’ll see three baseball fields and one softball field. Youth leagues play here and you will often see parents on the field, practicing baseball with their kids during the week. There is a very clean and well maintained, seasonal, concession area  located in the center of the fields.

When you follow the tree-lined road deeper into the park you will be welcomed by a beautiful lake filled with ducks and geese. There are covered picnic tables on each side of the lake and a nice playground with benches. There is now a paved walking trail wraps around the park and is usually occupied by leashed-dogs and people jogging and bikers

There are two well-lit soccer and football fields toward the back of the park. Each field is equipped with bleachers and the football fields are fenced in. The soccer fields also host Ultimate Frisbee leagues and pick-up games in spring, summer and fall. Cape Fear Ultimate sponsors tournaments and coordinates with club and college teams.

Pet Friendly

The dog park is mostly sand and has separate areas for small and large dogs. The park is well-lit, has water faucets for dogs and water fountains for their owners. There are several great places to eat right next to Ogden Park. The Beach House is a fun spot with live music and is even within walking distance. They have great food and a long front porch with multiple rocking chairs.

At night, The Beach House transforms into one of the most popular bars in the Ogden area. If you’re looking for something a little less casual, check out Catch on Market Street.
